Scouts

10.5 to 14 years

Jump in and get muddy. Give back and get set. Scouts ignore butterflies and go for it, and soon so will you!

Who are Scouts?

We are the 4th Formby Scouts. During term time, we meet every Thursday from 7.00 pm until 8.30 pm in the Workshop.

Together, our Scout Troop is keen to try new things; maybe mastering a new skills like whittling or taking part in a Mud Run.

We are still learning new skills and we like to do so in a practical way, such as chopping wood or building a raft. These skills are not always easy so they also help us develop character skills like resilience.

Cubs also help our community.  Throughout history, Scouts have played a useful role in society. This continues as we help with the Christmas Post, coffee mornings and other community events, such as parades.

Our Uniform

Our uniform gives everyone in Scouts a sense of belonging.

Wearing a uniform is comfy and practical. It means no one feels uncomfortable or left out and helps everyone feel part of the group. It is also the place to show off all the badges you earn.

Badges

Our badges and awards are part of what makes us Scouts. And Scouts love earning them!

There’s never any pressure to do badges. Scouts can do as many or as few as they like. For those up for a challenge, there are loads of exciting badges to aim for, with the highest award in Scouts being the Chief Scout’s Gold Award.

Recent Adventures

What Our Scouts Say:

“I enjoy lighting fires and cooking hotdogs on them or toasting marshmellows.” Jack, aged 9.5

This Term’s Programme of Activities

We would love you to join us!

Details of the programme can be found in the Parents Portal of OSM. Contact a Leader if you haven’t had your OSM link.

For all outdoor meetings bring a coat, snack, whistle & torch. For all walks, we are in need of parents helpers to make it possible.

Please let us know if you are available to help!
